We design things and make them come to life.
Type/Code is a studio of designers and developers who invent, communicate, build, and refine. We collaborate with ambitious clients who want to bring powerful ideas to life.
We find clever solutions to hard problems. We love to immerse ourselves in new domains. We strive to make complicated things beautifully intuitive and powerfully functional.

Some teams we've collaborated with
Founding Partner, Creative Director
Zeke has been designing digital experiences for over ten years, with projects ranging from consumer and enterprise web applications to digital brand experiences, for both ambitious start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. When he’s not drafting product flows on the whiteboard or pushing pixels around, Zeke can be found screen printing, beer brewing, rock climbing and backpacking.
Partner, Creative Director
Don’t let his psych degree from Princeton fool you – Ian’s a creative through and through. He’s got a decade of interaction and graphic design experience under his belt, and it’s perfectly complemented by his studies at the intersection of behavioral economics, consumer psychology and branding. Before partnering up at Type/Code, he led design projects for some of the nation’s leading architects, like Michael Graves, Richard Meier and KPF.
Founding Partner, Technical Director
With nearly a decade of experience building software, Andrew loves crafting clean, scalable code that’s as elegant as the user interface it supports. While he’s well-versed in building business-focused products, his favorite projects explore ways to bring art to life through technology. He’s an efficiency fiend, too, whether he’s leading development on a big project, setting up a new server, or racing one of his many bikes. (Don’t get him started.)
Partner, Lead Developer
Lev is a Russia-born, NYC-raised developer who’s been building websites and applications for several years. He studied Design & Technology at Parsons School of Design, where his fascination with interactive visual things transformed into a passion for bringing them to life through code. Lev now teaches classes at Parsons when he can sneak away from Type/Code, and his most recent interest has him fine-tuning a number of delicious Stir Fry dishes.
Hailing from the superior sports city of Boston, Dan is a Project Manager with a keen interest in the unique communication dynamics within digital creative teams. Originally specializing in eCommerce web projects, his interests have shifted towards exploring where artistic expression and storytelling converge in the digital space. When Dan isn’t surfing excel spreadsheets, he’s likely to be found in a foreign country, tasting the local cuisine or “tearing up” the dance floor.
Digital Art Director
Pei was born and raised in Taiwan—when her dream of being a secret agent didn't quite work out, she moved to New York to study Graphic Design at the School of Visual Arts. She received her BFA there in 2009, and went on to develop her talent for branding in agencies including Thinkso Creative and Pentagram. Recently, she's decided it's time to focus her creativity on the digital world—leading her first to MoMA, and now to Type/Code. Pei's drive for perfection in her work is paralleled only by her (sometimes reckless) passion for extreme sports, including sky and scuba diving in 23 different countries.
Digital Art Director
During most of her time in the field, Erica has explored the relationship between narrative and design, with an emphasis on storytelling through the web. For her, design is about packaging information into meaningful events. Before joining Type/Code, Erica worked as a designer at Pentagram—creating integrated, multimedia brand experiences. Prior to working with Pentagram, she worked at the Yale University School of Medicine as a brand identity consultant for private sectors within the university.
Full Stack Developer
Josh is a full stack developer with a passion for bringing ideas into reality. He thrives when working on challenging problems and innovative products with other driven, energetic people. His past projects span across a myriad of industries from data analytics to gaming to dating or even ticketing. Away from work, you'd find him finishing up his classes at NYU, racing his bike or reading in a peaceful nook in the city.
